Venture 2002

Since its inception in 1984, CED's annual venture conference has been nationally recognized as the Southeast's largest and most dynamic venture financing conference. Venture 2002 showcased the best of the region's high-growth entrepreneurial companies, representing a wide array of industries. In addition to company presentations and exhibits, the conference included extensive networking opportunities and exclusive investor-only events.

Leading Venture Capitalist, Steve Jurvetson, managing director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson, spoke on future technology trends, including nanotechnology. Jurvetson was recently chosen by Upside Magazine as one of the 100 "most influential people in the digital world" and by Forbes as one of "Tech's Best Venture Investors." To read text files from Jurvetson's presentation, visit http://www.dfj.com/new/.

Venture 2002 will also provide an opportunity to hear from Ammar Hanafi, vice president of business development, Cisco Systems and a panel of the region's leading institutional investors, representing Duke Endowment Fund, Duke Management Company, NC State Pension Fund and UNC Investment Fund.
