Durham-based Semprius, which spun out from research conducted at the University of Illinois, is commercializing a newly invented process for printing high performance single-crystal semiconductors on glass, plastic and other materials. In April 2007, the company raised $4.7 million in Series A funding from Arch Venture Partners and Intersouth Partners to expand its manufacturing processes. Having received accolades from Wall Street Journal and MIT Technology Review magazine, Semprius is poised for strong success.
