Arsenal Digital Receives $23M in Series C Round
Arsenal Digital Solutions, a Durham-based storage service provider (SSP), recently announced that it has raised $23 million in its latest round of financing. With this new round of Series C financing, Arsenal has raised a total of $42 million in equity since its inception. The round was led by Southeast Interactive Technology Funds, and included Covestco, Task USA, and MCNC. Arsenal will use the funding to support both existing and new partners, capital expenditures required to grow the business and to increase its workforce by 15 percent. www.arsenaldigital.com

Paradigm to Acquire Celera Genomic's AgGen in $2.1 Million Deal
In a deal worth $2.1 million, Paradigm Genetics Inc. (Nasdaq:PDGM) will acquire the the agricultural genomics business of Celera Genomics (NYSE:CRA). The Research Triangle Park-based company will become the exclusive marketing partner to provide Celera services to the plant-based agriculture industry. Upon closing of Paradigm's acquisition of the Celera's AgGen genomics and genotyping business, which is subject to customary conditions, Paradigm's new business unit will be named ParaGen. As part of the transaction, Celera will receive 422,459 shares of Paradigm common stock and will share future service revenue with Paradigm. NetIQ Ranks 12th on Bloomberg's List of the 100 Fastest Growing Tech Companies
NetIQ Corporation (Nasdaq: NTIQ), a provider of e-business infrastructure management and intelligence solutions, announced that it was ranked 12th on Bloomberg's third annual list of the 100 Fastest Growing Tech Companies, which appeared in the October issue of Bloomberg Personal Finance. NetIQ showed tremendous growth with net sales of $128.6 million and a one-year sales growth of 278 percent. Companies eligible for the list experienced at least 25 percent sales growth during both the 12-month period from March 31, 2000, to March 31, 2001, and the first quarter of 2001 compared to the first quarter 2000. Of these 500 companies, the top 100 were then ranked by Bloomberg based on 12-month sales growth. Headquartered in San Jose, NetIQ has 90 employees in its Raleigh office. www.netiq.com
