Microcosm Secures $4.75 Million in Capital
Raleigh-based Microcosm Technologies, Inc. said Monday that it has secured $4.75 Million in new capital. The privately held software company said the funding will be used to accelerate marketing efforts of its product, a computer aided design software system for the design of microelectromechanical systems.
Amoung the sources of the capital were Telos Venture Partners of Santa Clara, CA, The Wakefield Group of Charlotte and the NC Enterprise Fund, an earlier investor. Microcosm, a presenter at CED's Venture '97 conference, has raised $6.75 million since its founding.
Rogue Wave Upgrades Product
Triangle-based Rogue Wave Software, Inc. said today its stingray division is releasing Objective Grid Pro, an enhanced version of its object-oriented grid control that adds grid support for Microsoft Windows CE operating system.
Xanthon Seeks $6 Million to Fund Development
Xanthon, Inc. has initiated a search for $6 million in venture capital to complete product development. Over the past 18 months, it has raised $3 million from Intersouth Partners, The Aurora Funds, Franklin Street/Fairview Partners and the NC technological Development Authority.
Xanthon wants to release its first product in the first quarter of 2000. Its core technology is a quicker, simpler method of detecting DNA and RNA, the basic building blocks of life.
Venture '99 Applications are available
The deadline for the second round of the selection process is December 10, 1998.
