CED Announces “Venture Series” Workshops
New Two-Part Program Prepares Early Stage Entrepreneurs for Venture Capital, Long-Term Success
October 2, 2007, RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – The Council for Entrepreneurial Development, in collaboration with Hutchison Law Group, presents Venture Series, a two-part program to provide knowledge and resources to early stage entrepreneurs who want to attract funding for or grow their venture-backed company.
Session One, “Creating a Sustainable Business and Perfecting the Pitch,” will take place on Tuesday, October 30, 2007. Session Two, “Deal Structures and Raising Capital,” will take place Thursday, November 29, 2007. Both sessions will run from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will be held at the N.C. Biotechnology Center, located at 15 T.W. Alexander Drive in Research Triangle Park, N.C.
During the programs, investors and experienced entrepreneurs will address a wide range of topics including:
- Characteristics of Venture-Backed Companies
- Formation and Founder Matters
- Protecting and Commercializing IP
- Preparing the Pitch
- Venture Economics and Valuation
- Choosing an Investor
- Understanding Term Sheets
- Life as a Venture-Backed Company
“CED and Hutchison Law Group are pleased to present this program to share valuable insight from investors and real-life experiences of entrepreneurs,” said CED President Monica Doss. “Early stage entrepreneurs will find great value in the lessons, interactions and connections available at the Venture Series workshops.”
Pre-registration is required for both sessions and must be completed by close of business on the Friday before each session. CED members may attend one session for $45 or both sessions for $65; non-CED members may attend one session for $60 or both sessions for $90.
