U.K. Life Science Licensing and Technology Transfer Expert to Speak at CED's Biotech 2007
Imperial Innovations’ Tony Hickson to provide keynote remarks at CED Conference on May 14
April 2, 2007, Research Triangle Park, NC –The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) today announced that Tony Hickson, the head of Bioscience Licensing at Imperial Innovations in London, will join Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle and renowned stem cell researcher Dr. Anthony Atala in delivering featured remarks at CED’s 16th annual Biotech conference. Biotech 2007, scheduled for May 14-15 at the Marriott at the Civic Center in Durham, N.C., is presented by CED in partnership with the North Carolina Biotechnology Center and the North Carolina Biosciences Organization (NCBIO).
Tony Hickson joined Imperial Innovations in early 2002 and is head of Bioscience Licensing. Tony has over fifteen years of varied commercial experience in bioscience companies including Wellcome Research Laboratories, Murex Biotech, Abbott Laboratories and Kalibrant Ltd. He leads a team responsible for identifying IP assets, protecting them and commercializing them by way of licensing and spin-out companies.
Mr. Hickson has a wealth of knowledge and experience in licensing and technology transfer," said CED President Monica Doss. “We are very excited to have him share with us some of his experience and to explain Imperial Innovations’ unique approach to technology transfer."
In addition to keynote remarks, Biotech 2007 will also feature concurrent panel sessions led by industry visionaries and leaders. Panel session topics will include fundraising, biofuels, emerging technologies, biotech and pharmaceutical exit strategies, cell ethics, and trends among large pharmaceutical companies.
