CED Awards Innovation at Tech 2006 Conference
Sensory Analytics and 6th Sense Win People’s Choice Awards; Advanced Liquid Logic Receives CEO’s One to Watch Award
October 11, 2006, Research Triangle Park, NC – The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) recognized three promising technology companies at its 16th annual Tech conference, held at North Carolina State University’s McKimmon Center in Raleigh. Greensboro-based Sensory Analytics, LLC and Morrisville-based 6th Sense Analytics placed first and second, respectively, for CED’s People’s Choice Award. RTP-based Advance Liquid Logic received the CEO’s One to Watch Award.
All 27 demo participants at Tech 2006 were eligible for the 4th Annual People’s Choice Award, which includes a prize of marketing and communications services from Maverick Endeavors. Conference attendees chose Sensory Analytics as the winner of the award based on level of innovation for its robotically integrated measurement system. 6th Sense Analytics took home second place honors for its software development data collection technology.
Demo participants were also eligible for the 1st Annual CEO’s One to Watch Award. A select group of Triangle-area CEOs chose Advanced Liquid Logic as the award winner based on market potential for its microfluidic lab-on-a-chip technology.
Tech 2006 attracted more than 600 attendees. The 16th annual conference featured three concurrent panel sessions, 27 technology demos from across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, and keynote addresses from Colin Angle, CEO and co-founder of iRobot Corporation; David Bonderman, founding partner of Texas Pacific Group (TPG) and Newbridge Capital; Marc Lautenbach, General Manager of IBM Americas; and Jim Steele, President of Salesforce.com.
“We believe innovation is the impetus that will drive economic value for the foreseeable future,” said IBM’s Lautenbach during his featured remarks at lunch. “Based on predictable economic cycles, there will be a healthy economic boom in the future because of a focus on value and innovation.”
