CED Elects New Board of Directors for 2006-2007
Board Sets Direction for Upcoming Year
July 25, 2006, Research Triangle Park, NC – The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) has elected its new 2006-2007 board of directors to lead the organization through its next year of operations.
Reid Conrad, CEO of Chapel Hill-based Near-Time, Inc., will serve as CED’s chair for 2006-2007. Conrad succeeds Christy Shaffer, Ph.D., CEO of Durham-based Inspire Pharmaceuticals, as chair.
“CED is in a strategic phase, and I am excited to serve this important role,” Conrad said. “CED has always been about helping entrepreneurs leverage the network. As the traditional network is blended with digital outreach, CED will truly become a center of entrepreneurial excellence. The result will be a best of class approach to help more entrepreneurs become successful faster.”
CED’s 2006-2007 executive committee officers include Conrad (chair), CED’s Monica Doss (president), Ernst & Young’s Michael Constantino (treasurer), and Kennedy Covington Lobdell & Hickman’s Kent Christison (secretary).
Other members of CED’s 2006-2007 executive committee include Dan Allred of Silicon Valley Bank, Peyton Anderson of Affinergy, Jeff Clark of The Aurora Funds, Steve Clark, Tom Finegan of Clarkston Consulting, John Glushik of Intersouth Partners, Mark Larson of Grant Thornton LLP, and Mary Musacchia of Global Business Development.
