June 28, 2005, Research Triangle Park, NC –The Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) has selected five North Carolina-based demo participants to display their technologies at InfoTech 2005. CED is still in the midst of the demo recruitment and selection process and will select approximately 20 more demo participants by the end of July. The final deadline to apply to demo at InfoTech 2005 is Friday, July 1. For demo application details and criteria visit www.cednc.org/infotech_demoapp.
The recently selected InfoTech 2005 demo participants include the following:

Brooks Malone, chair of the InfoTech 2005 demo selection committee and a partner with Raleigh-based Hughes Pittman & Gupton LLP, said the first group of selected demo participants shows a broad spectrum of industries and stages.
“These five demo participants represent the diversity of technologies in North Carolina, at all stages - with two NC university’s represented in this group, two commercially active companies and one early-stage entrepreneurial company, they are a small sampling of the tremendous amount of innovation that exists in this space,” said Malone. “I strongly encourage other groups with breakthrough technologies to apply to demo at InfoTech 2005.”
InfoTech 2005 will showcase innovative information technology from North Carolina-based entrepreneurial companies, university spin-outs, garage entrepreneurs, students, IT corporations and local research institutions. The conference will also include discussions on IT trends and issues through engaging panel sessions and featured speakers.
