Top Entrepreneurs Share Secrets on How to Put Corporate Culture to Work

Research Triangle Park - Three leaders from the area's hottest entrepreneurial companies will discuss the importance of identifying and creating a company culture within an entrepreneurial organization at a forum sponsored by the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) on May 25.

Richard Holcomb, chairman of HAHT Software, Tim Huntley, president of Ganymede Software and Adrienne Lumpkin, president of Alternate Access will speak at CED's Entrepreneurs Forum, "Developing a Corporate Culture that Works For Your Company," held on Tuesday, May 25 at 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Building One at MCNC in the Research Triangle Park.

"Building a consistent corporate culture is one of the most significant things an entrepreneur must do to be successful. The entrepreneur has his own values, ideas and motivations, and as the company grows from the initial entrepreneurial team, it is crucial that these elements get conveyed to new employees," said Holcomb.

The speakers will discuss how incorporating the philosophy of a company into a desired corporate culture can make or break its success and can affect bottom-line issues like recruitment, productivity and retention.

"We are dependent on a few people representing us and representing us with the appropriate level of professionalism and integrity. Our corporate culture is shared in writing, verbally and most importantly, in the way we behave with customers and vendors in and out of the office," said Lumpkin.

"For Ganymede, establishing an environment where every single person feels like they are making a difference is key to our culture. As a small company we need for each employee to make a significant contribution," said Huntley.

The forum is open to the public, but pre-registration is requested since seating is limited. Cost is $15 for CED members and $30 for non-members. To register, contact Michelle Hodges at 919.549.7500, ext. 103 or by email at mhodges@cednc.org. A map to MCNC is available on the CED web site, www.cednc.org.
