CED President's Service Award: Fred Hutchison
Research Triangle Park-- Fred Hutchison of Hutchison & Mason, PLLC, has been awarded the Council for Entrepreneurial Development's 1998 President's Service Entrepreneurial Excellence.
CED has been successful in its mission to stimulate and support entrepreneurial development primarily because of the contributions of its remarkable volunteer leadership. This award identifies one CED leader whose vision and unselfish dedication to our mission has multiplied CED's ability to serve our entrepreneurs and our community.
"CED began a strategic planning process in 1995 to determine how best
to provide the infrastructure and support the Triangle would need to lead the
nation as an entrepreneurial center. It became quickly apparent that CED would
need to transform itself from a small, bootstrap organization to do what needed
to be done. Fred Hutchison took on the leadership of our Future Focus Capital
Campaign without hesitation and contributed his time, energy and leadership
to ensure its success. His efforts, along with the many people he personally
recruited to the cause, have made our vision a reality."

The Council for Entrepreneurial Development, located at the CED Entrepreneurship Center in Research Triangle Park, NC, was formed in 1984 to stimulate the creation and growth of high-impact companies in the greater Research Triangle region. CED provides education, mentoring and capital formation resources to new and existing high-growth entrepreneurs. CED sponsors annual conferences, seminars, workshops and monthly programs on entrepreneurial management and finance.
