Durham-based Serenex (www.serenex.com), a drug discovery and development company, has initiated a second Phase I clinical trial for SNX-5422, a heat shock protein 90 inhibitor. This trail will specifically target patients with hematological malignancies, while the first Phase I trial, which began in May 2007, targeted patients with solid tumors. This clinical trial will be conducted at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and at the University of Pittsburg Cancer Institute in Pittsburg, PA.
