Atlanta-based Arcapita Ventures (www.arcapita.com), a venture capital firm, has led a $33 million round of funding for CardioMEMS, an Atlanta-based developer of wireless sensing technology for the management of chronic cardiovascular diseases. Additional participants in the round are Boston Millennia Partners, Medtronic, Inc., Easton Capital Partners, Foundation Medical Partners, and Arboretum Ventures, along with new investors Deerfield Capital Management, Vision Capital Advisors, Aperture Venture Partners and Rockport Venture Securities. This is the fifth round of funding the company has raised. CardioMEMS has developed a technology platform to improve the management of diseases such as aneurysms, heart failure and hypertension.
