IBM to Acquire Vallent

New York-based IBM (www.ibm.com), one of the largest employers of technology workers in RTP, has acquired Vallent, a Washington-based supplier of network performance monitoring software for an undisclosed amount.

Vallent’s software enables the management by service providers of network infrastructure by monitoring and reporting problem areas such as dropped calls and traffic bottlenecks. The company employs about 400 people.
