Operation Sickle Cell, Inc. & Stedman-Wade Federally Qualified Health Center Receive $1.28 Million Grant

Fayetteville-based Operation Sickle Cell, Inc. (http://www.sicklecellnc.org/) in collaboration with the Stedman-Wade Federally Qualified Health Center has been awarded $1.28 million over the next four years by The Health Resources & Services Administration. The grant is part of a national pilot program to establish a seamless continuum of care for adult and pediatric sickle cell disease patients.

The results from this grant, along with three others awarded nationally, will guide national policy regarding services to the sickle cell community. Partners in the project include Duke University Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center, Regional Family Medical Center, Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Emergency Services Department and Fayetteville State University.
