EntrepreneurshipWeek USA: Feb. 24-March 3

EntrepreneurshipWeek USA, an initiative of the Kauffman Foundation and other partners, kicked off on Saturday (Feb. 24) and will run through March 3.

Activities are scheduled in all 50 states and nearly every major city in the United States. In North Carolina, a statewide Entrepreneurship Policy Summit will be held Tuesday, Feb. 27, at the North Raleigh Hilton.

Forbes Ranking on Best U.S. Cities for Jobs

Forbes magazine has released its latest ranking on the top 25 "Best U.S. Cities for Jobs."

The Raleigh-Cary metro area, ranked number 7 in last year's report, came in as the top-ranked city this year.

The Climate for Hiring

Rick Smith, editor of WRAL Local Tech Wire, recently spoke with HireNetworks' Craig Stone about the climate for hiring in the region.

While Stone said many firms are hiring across the board, he cautioned that the supply and demand for workers is constantly shifting.

Untapped Innovation at Kauffman's iBridge

The Kauffman Innovation Network has launched an interesting Web site for anyone to search for innovations that, until now, have been lost and untapped behind university walls. The iBridge Network debuted at the DEMO 07 conference in California last week.

The beta version of iBridge offers an online information exchange between university researchers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders.
