Advice for Early-Stage Entrepreneurs

Award-winning Scripps Howard columnist Bruce Freeman writes a weekly article called "Ask the Small Business Professor" for a network of 450 newspapers across the country. He recently received this question from an entrepreneur:

"I own a small technology business and have two people working with me. We have no space, limited resources and feel very isolated in terms of networking and building strategic partnerships. What do you recommend?"

Freeman contacted CED to help answer this reader's question.

CED President Monica Doss told Freeman that "entrepreneurs should build a network in their community that embraces risk-taking. A vibrant network of entrepreneurs, investors and service professionals will help when you are seeking office space, growth capital or quality management. Entrepreneurs should use the network to increase their startup knowledge and build new relationships."

What other advice would you give to this early-stage entrepreneur who has limited resources?
