Former General Counsel of Silicon Valley Bank
Mary is the co-founder of dcIQ, a consulting firm that
helps empower entrepreneurs by providing insight into public policy issues
affecting their businesses. Before forming dcIQ in August 2013, Mary served as
General Counsel of Silicon Valley Bank, where among other things she launched
and led an initiative focused on promoting a pro-innovation public policy
environment. Mary's experience at SVB built on her
earlier work as General Counsel of the global communications satellite operator
New Skies Satellites and on more than a decade in Washington, D.C., where she
worked on the staff of Senator Edward M. Kennedy and as an attorney with
Goldberg, Godles, Wiener & Wright, advising companies on spectrum policy
and other issues before the Federal Communications Commission. Ms. Dent holds a
B.A. in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles and a J.D.
from Stanford Law School.
Dan Keoppel is Executive Director of Verizon Ventures,
Verizon Communications’ venture investing program. VerizonVentures makes
direct investments in innovative startups that work with one of three major
Verizon business units wireless, wireline, and enterprise services. Dan
has lead the investments in Airborne Entertainment, Networks in Motion,
Thumbplay, Entropic Networks, Medio, Loopt, FlashNetworks, Veoh, Zoove,
Cellfire, ConteXtream, CardStar, Videosurf, BugLabs, Aztek Networks, SkyFire,
ActionX, & Flint.
Mr Keoppel has been with Verizon and its predecessor
companies, Bell Atlantic and Nynex, for 17 years where he has held a variety of
corporate development and merger & acquisition positions. Prior to
Verizon, Mr. Keoppel worked at AT&T in their M&A group and at AT&T
Ventures Corporation, and held various finance positions with Lucent (then AT&T)
Dan has an undergraduate degree in psychology from Rutgers
University and a MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is based at
the Verizon Center in Basking Ridge, NJ.
Dave Zilberman joined Comcast Ventures in 2006, and is responsible
for identifying, executing and managing new investments predominantly within
the enterprise software and services category. Dave brings a combination of
operational, technical and advisory experience to bear as an investor. Prior to
joining Comcast Ventures, Dave was a business development manager at Flarion
Technologies, where he played a pivotal role in the company’s fundraising
activities and ultimate acquisition by Qualcomm for $805M. Prior to Flarion,
Dave was a communications and media M&A investment banker and asset manager
at Lehman Brothers. Dave holds a B.S. in Management with a concentration in
Finance from Binghamton University.
Dave is the founder and
Chairman of CTI Towers and led Comcast Ventures’ investments in Divide,
DocuSign, EdgeConneX, and Vox Media.
