What is Streak?

The STREAK program assists early-stage, high-growth life sciences and technology companies prepare for fundraising by allowing them to have their investor presentation critiqued by a seasoned panel of investors, entrepreneurs, financial and marketing experts. The panel will have reviewed the company’s business plan beforehand and, after listening to the investor presentation, will offer improvement suggestions. The program provides a thorough critique of the business plan and the investor pitch in a closed-door setting.

How Does STREAK Work?

Step 1--Submit a business plan & investor pitch (slide deck)

Step 2--CED will review application & provide feedback (if not-selected)

Step 3--If selected, CED will provide a checklist for the investor pitch & will require you to submit the final business plan to be sent to the panel for review & critique

Step 4--Panel Review & Critique session of the company business plan & investor pitch

 

The panel of experts is custom-built to address the specific needs of each company, typically including venture capitalist, angel investor, corporate and/orpatent attorney, financial expert, marketing professional and a successful entrepreneur. Depending on the needs of the company, experts from other areas may be added.

 

Panel members review the company’s complete business plan prior to closed-door critiquing session. At the hour-long meeting, the entrepreneur makes a 10 minute investor presentation, followed by questions from the expert team. The team members provide constructive feedback about the company’s business strategy, marketing plan, funding options and presentation skills, and share their experience and business advice to help the company successfully achieve its business and funding objectives.

 


Criteria

Entrepreneurial participation in the program is by invitation only, based on a competitive application process. Companies must meet the following criteria:

 

  • The company has a written business plan
  • The company is or will soon be seeking
    equity investors
  • The company is life sciences &
    technology oriented
  • The business plan projects significant
    growth potential
  • The company can benefit from hands-on,
    expert mentoring
