Dana is the Managing Partner of Boston Millennia Partners. Prior to founding Boston Millennia Partners, Dana co-founded Boston Capital Ventures in 1982. Before that, he worked as a Senior Consultant at Braxton Associates, an international strategic planning firm that was formed by professionals from Boston Consulting Group and Bain & Co. He worked with Fortune 100 companies in strategic planning and implementing merger and acquisition strategies. Prior to working in the management consulting business, Dana worked in sales and marketing for Tymshare, Inc. (McDonnell-Douglas). He currently is Presiding Director and Chair of the governance committee of PAREXEL International Corporation (NasdaqGS:PRXL) a $1 billion plus clinical trials management company. He is, or has served, as a Director of a number of other public and private companies, including ILEX Oncology, Inc. (Nasdaq: ILXO), a cancer pharmaceutical company acquired by Genzyme for $1 billion; MedAptus, Inc., a mobile computing provider of clinical, financial and administrative software solutions to the medical community; and PHT Technologies, Inc., a provider of mobile and Web-based technology solutions to the pharmaceutical industry focused on clinical trials management. Other investment responsibilities included Glycofi Inc., (acquired by Merck, NYSE: MRK); HotJobs, Inc. (acquired by Yahoo, NasdaqGS: YHOO); iVillage, Inc. (acquired by NBC Universal, a subsidiary of General Electric, NYSE: GE); and Tektagen, Inc. (acquired by Charles River Laboratories, NYSE: CRL). Dana is a Director of Jobs for Massachusetts, a Massachusetts based non-profit organization comprised of business and political leaders including the Governor and Congressional leaders. Janet Cowell
State Treasurer of North Carolina
Janet Cowell is the State Treasurer of North Carolina. Elected in 2008, she is the state’s 27th popularly-elected Treasurer and is the first woman to win the post. As the state’s fiscal advisor, Treasurer Cowell oversees more than $67 billion in pension fund investments, affecting 820,000 public employees including teachers, firefighters and other government employees. Cowell and her staff manage the issuance of several billion dollars of debt each year and help cities, towns and counties by monitoring their financial condition while providing professional technical assistance on audit and financial reporting. Her expertise in government operations comes from hands-on experience as a member of the North Carolina Senate and the Raleigh City Council. Cowell is at the forefront of economic development in North Carolina, serving as chair of the State Banking Commission and on the boards of State Education and Community Colleges. An investment professional, Cowell earned an MBA from the Wharton School of Business and a Master’s degree in International Studies from the Lauder Institute. She worked as a financial analyst with HSBC Bank and Lehman Brothers before making her home in North Carolina.

Jaime W. Ellertson has served as the President and CEO of Gomez, Inc. since 2005. In 2009, he led Gomez through a successful IPO registration and eventually sold the business to Compuware Corporation. Prior to Gomez, he served as the Chief Executive Officer and President and a director of S1 Corporation, a provider of software for the automation of financial transaction processing. He was Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Interleaf, Inc., a provider of software tools for e-content management, from 1997 until its acquisition by Broadvision, Inc. in April 2000, after which he served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Worldwide Strategic Operations for BroadVision, Inc., a provider of self-service applications, until November 2000. Brad has been an early stage investor and entrepreneur for over twenty years. Prior to co-founding Foundry Group, he co-founded Mobius Venture Capital and, prior to that, founded Intensity Ventures, a company that helped launch and operate software companies and later became a venture affiliate of the predecessor to Mobius Venture Capital. Brad currently serves on the board of directors of Gist, Gnip, Oblong, Standing Cloud, and Zynga for Foundry Group. Previously, Brad served as chief technology officer of AmeriData Technologies. AmeriData acquired Feld Technologies, a firm he founded in 1987 that specialized in custom software applications. Brad had grown Feld Technologies into one of Boston's leading software consulting firms prior to the acquisition. He also directed the diversification into software consulting at AmeriData, a $1.5 billion publicly-traded company which was acquired by GE Capital in 1995. In addition to his investing efforts, Brad has been active with several non-profit organizations and currently is chairman of the National Center for Women & Information Technology and co-chairman of the Colorado Governor's Innovation Council. He led Acurex from 1972 to 1982 during a period when sales increased nearly tenfold to $65 million with continuous profitability. Prior to founding Parish Capital, Mr. Mason served as Director of Private Investments for Duke University Management Company (DUMAC) and was responsible for their private equity strategy, including sourcing, executing and monitoring investments. Jim Rogers is chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of Duke Energy. Rogers has more than 20 years of experience as a chief executive officer in the electric utility industry. He was named president and chief executive officer of Duke Energy following the merger of Duke Energy and Cinergy in April 2006. Before the merger, Rogers served as Cinergy’s chairman and chief executive officer for more than 11 years. Prior to the formation of Cinergy, he joined PSI Energy in 1988 as the company’s chairman, president and chief executive officer. Rogers has served as deputy general counsel for litigation and enforcement for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC); executive vice president of interstate pipelines for the Enron Gas Pipeline Group; and as a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld. Prior to those appointments, he served as assistant to the chief trial counsel at FERC; as a law clerk for the Supreme Court of Kentucky; and as assistant attorney general for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, where he acted as intervener on behalf of state consumers in gas, electric and telephone rate cases. He was also a reporter for the Lexington (Kentucky) Herald-Leader. In the course of his career, Rogers has served more than 50 cumulative years on the boards of Fortune 500 companies. He is currently a director of Cigna Corp. and Applied Materials Inc. He has served as a director of Duke Realty Corporation, Cinergy Corp., PSI Energy, Bankers Life Holding Corporation, Irkutskenergo AO, Indiana National Bank and Fifth Third Bancorp. He is past chairman and ex officio member of the Executive Committee of the Edison Electric Institute; and current chairman of the Institute for Electric Efficiency. He serves as a member of the board of directors and the Executive Committee of the Nuclear Energy Institute, and is a board member of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations and the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO). Rogers also serves on the boards of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Business Roundtable, the National Coal Council, the National Petroleum Council and the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions. Erik recently join the pension plan investing arm of UPS in 2007. His position focuses on private market investments as an LP into private equity, venture capital, and real estate funds on behalf of the plan assets. Prior to that Erik worked in the Strategy Group in their venture capital arm called the UPS Strategic Enterprise Fund (SEF). The SEF was started in 1997 and is an early stage corporate strategic investor. Investing primarily for understanding and for learning about new technologies or market spaces, the UPS SEF was a form of innovation, advanced technology arm, and a look into the future for UPS. The SEF took equity positions in start ups and co-invested with venture capitalists in seed to early stage portfolio companies. Prior to the SEF Erik worked in the New Product Concepts Group, that looks for new products and innovative ideas for the future of UPS. Erik holds a patent from his work in New Product Concepts and spearheaded several new general service offerings currently generating large revenues to UPS. Erik earned his International MBA from Thunderbird, School of Global Management. He played rugby, was nominated for the Barton Yont Award (Academic excellence) and held several senior/presidential positions in business clubs on campus. He also was a Spanish language teaching assistant with Sigma Phi Iota awards. Dick Williams

Dick Williams is president and chief executive officer of Webroot Software. He brings to the role over four decades of executive and operational leadership experience for technology, software and digital media companies. Most recently Williams served as CEO-in-Residence at venture capital firm Accel Partners, where he worked with the Accel team to identify and analyze new ventures. In that role he also advised and assisted portfolio companies and their CEOs on all aspects of their business. Dick has worked as CEO or Chairman of several category defining companies funded by some of the most successful venture capital firms in the world. Most recently Dick has been Chairman of Hyperic, a leader in open source systems management software for today’s large Web, SaaS, and cloud applications and infrastructures. Hyperic was acquired by SpringSource Global in May 2009. Prior to that, Williams was CEO of Wily Technology, the leader in Web application management, which was acquired by CA (Computer Associates) in 2006. Earlier he was CEO of Illustra Information Technologies, a pioneer of object database technology, which was acquired by Informix in 1996. Dick then co-founded and served as chairman of Quokka Sports, an online immersive sports media company, which completed its initial public offering in 1999. Williams' executive leadership experience began at IBM, where he spent 22 years in a variety of sales, marketing, product and business management roles, including vice president for the company’s Data Systems and General Products divisions. He then served as president and CEO of Digital Research, which he turned around and later sold to Novell. At Novell Williams served as executive vice president of sales and support, and general manager of Novell’s Digital Research Systems Group. John May is the managing partner of New Vantage Group (“NVG”), a Vienna, Virginia-based firm that innovatively mobilizes private equity capital into early-stage companies. NVG administers four regional angel groups which include over 300 individual members and has three joint ventures with sister organizations. Over the last 20 years, John has been an advisor to, or a general partner of, five early-stage venture capital funds, including the UK-based Seraphim Capital formed in 2006. John is chair-emeritus of the Angel Capital Association and is a lead instructor for the association’s “Power of Angel Investing” seminars and co-chair of the World Business Angels Association. In 2003, he co-edited with Elizabeth O’Halloran a book and multimedia CD entitled State of the Art: An Executive Briefing on Cutting-Edge Practices in American Angel Investing (Darden Publishing). He is a Batten Fellow at the University of Virginia’s Darden Business School.
