CED’s 27th annual Venture conference on April 20-22, 2010 will feature top investment opportunities from North Carolina and across the Southeast in the technology and life science sectors. Please refer to the presenting company criteria below to determine if your company should apply to present and which stage to apply for.

Criteria For presenting companies
Geography
CED’s Venture 2010 presenting companies should reside in the Southeastern states, including North Carolina, Maryland, Washington, DC, Virginia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida.
Industry
CED is looking for companies that are creating breakthrough technologies in the information technology, life sciences and clean technology sectors.
The life sciences sector:
- Biopharmaceuticals
- Medical devices
- Diagnostics
- Healthcare IT
The technology sector:
- Digital media and communications
- Software solutions
- Nanotechnology
- Tech enabled services
- Semiconductor
The cleantech sector:
- Energy generation
- Energy efficiency
- Recycling & waste
- Transportation & storage
Stage of Development (Which Stage to Apply For)
CED’s Venture 2010 conference will featured presenting companies across two stages; early and late.
To apply for Early Stage, the company should:
- Have the potential to become a market leader in their respective sector
- Hold proven leadership amongst the management team
- Be generating less than $2 million annually (includes companies that are pre-revenue)
- Be seeking the first institutional round with an initial investment between $250,000 and $5 million
- For life science (IND - pre-clinical trials)
To apply for Late Stage, the company should:
- Have an established product or service in their respective sector
- Have a management team in place
- Have a proven & differentiated business model
- Be a large market opportunity
- Be generating more than $2 million annually
- Be seeking follow on institutional rounds
- For life science (in Phase 1 or 2 of clinical development)
