President & CEO
RTI International
Victoria Franchetti Haynes, Ph.D., became RTI International’s
third president in 1999, following a 22-year career of research
leadership, management and new business development. She
got her start at Monsanto Research Corp. in 1977 and secured
four promotions before her departure in 1992 as Director
of Technology in the company’s plastics division. Prior
to joining RTI, she worked for seven years at BFGoodrich
Company, where she served as vice president of research
and development and later as Chief Technical Officer and
Vice President of the company’s advanced technology group.
Victoria currently serves as a corporate board member on
behalf of Lubrizol Corp.; Nucor Corp.; PPG Industries, Inc.;
and Ziptronix, Inc.
Bob Henn
CTO
Liquidia
Bob is Chief Technology Officer for Liquidia Technologies
in Research Triangle Park, N.C. For the first time, shape
specific nanoparticles can be precision engineered independent
of their composition and surface properties through the
use of Liquidia’s technology. Bob’s expertise is in transforming
technology into profits. He has 28 years of technical and
general management experience, 26 of which are with Gore & Associates.
In his last years there he contributed as the Global R&D
Leader, served on the Executive Operations committee, and
was an executive of the intellectual property holdings enterprise.
He had oversight for the technical staff of nearly 1,000,
which produced over 30 breakthrough or next-generation projects
and hundreds of derivative product offerings. He led a culture
of innovation and new product development through application
of technical systems, invention, human capital development,
corporate and intellectual property strategy and disciplines.
In the years between Gore and Liquidia, Bob was the general
manager of his own company, which assisted others, such
as Angiotech Pharmaceutical in turning their technology
into a full Create-Make & Sell profit generating enterprise.
Bob’s greatest joy is in seeing others grow to become heroes
in this “technology into profits” transformation.
