Mary C. Tanner

A 24-year veteran of the health care and consumer products industry, Mary C. Tanner has gained a consummate knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Through her extensive experiences with numerous initial public offerings, financings, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, she has effected more than 500 transactions with a total disclosed value of $100+ billion. Throughout her extensive career, Tanner has developed expertise in biotechnology, consumer self-medication, the ethical pharmaceutical industry, and the cosmetics and consumer medicine industries.

Since joining Bear Stearns in 2001, Tanner has concentrated on working with large pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Prior to her work with Bear Stearns, Tanner spearheaded large pharmaceutical transactions as managing director and head of the healthcare practice at Lehman Brothers. In addition to her well-known work with large companies, Ms. Tanner specializes in transactions between large and small companies, including corporate partnering and minority investments.

G. Steven Burrill has been very involved in the growth and prosperity of the biotechnology industry for 35 years. An early pioneer, Mr. Burrill is one of the original architects of the industry and one of its most avid and sustained promoters.

Mr. Burrill currently serves as Board Chairman for Paradigm Genetics (NASDAQ: PDGM) and Pyxis Genomics and as a Board member of DepoMed (AMEX: DMI), Galapagos Genomics, Inhibitex (observer), Targacept, and Third Wave Technologies (NASDAQ: TWTI). Prior to founding Burrill & Company in 1994, he spent 28 years with Ernst & Young, directing and coordinating the firm's services to clients in the biotechnology/life sciences/high technology/manufacturing industries worldwide.
