Kyma Technologies to Receive $2.8 Million from DoD
Raleigh-based, Kyma Technologies, a a leading supplier of ultra-high purity crystalline gallium nitride (GaN) and aluminum nitride (AlN) materials and related products and services, announced that it will receive $2.8 million from the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) for the continued development of low defect density GaN materials for high performance electronic device applications.
According to their press release, the funding will help support the development of a viable domestic supply of GaN materials. Kyma anticipates GaN-based semiconductors will become a key component of virtually all future U.S. defense systems and more than $100 billion in future commercial products.
Kyma Technologies has been a CED member since 2000. Company CEO, Keith Evans, presented Kyma to investors at CED's Venture 2006 conference.
